50th Jubilee News

What a wonderful weekend!

The Jubilee has now been and gone, and what a Jubilee it was! We started out on Friday night with our Cocktail Evening, and everyone looked to be having an excellent time, and the food provided was quite yummy. This marked the first use of the new school hall, and didn't it look wonderful?

Saturday saw the formal assembly take place, with some great memories from Dr Paddy Twigg (foundation pupil) and Jack Pinkham (former Home and School comittee member), and Rebecca Frankum (current student) provided a glimps into how the school operates today. The (yummy!) Jubilee Cake was cut by Noeline Hinton (foundation pupil), Ngarie Shand (nee Usher, past teacher) and Rebecca.

Last of all was the dinner and dance at the Heretaugna Club in Hastings, a nice time to relax and enjoy a great meal, and kick up your heals on the dance floor.

A HUGE thank you to all who attended the Jubilee, it would not have been the same without you all there, and another HUGE thank you to all those who helped make the Jubilee happen!

Jubilee Update - Finalised Details

Weekend events: The following is the finalised event list for the 50th Jubilee. Registration times on Friday night and Saturday morning are for picking up your registration pack and name tag. Registration packs will include all program details, tickets, and pamphlets of local attractions

Friday 22^nd: Cocktail Evening (Tidy dress)

Location: Heretaunga Intermediate School Hall

Registration Times: 5.00pm - 6.00pm

Event Times: 6.00pm - 8.00pm

Description: The Cocktail Evening is a time to catch up with old friends with light background music. Finger food will be available, and a complementary drink provided. A cash bar will be open for the duration of the evening.

Saturday 23^rd: Assembly (Casual dress)

Location: Heretaunga Intermediate School Hall

Registration Times: 9.30am - 10.00am

Event Times: 10.00am - 12.00pm

Description: The morning will start with a formal assembly, followed by morning tea. Group photos will be taken, and tours of the school provided.

Saturday 23^rd: Dinner and Dance (Tidy dress)

Location: Heretaunga Club, 308 Victoria Street, Hastings

Event Times: 6.00pm (Dinner), 8.00pm (Dance) till late;

Description: A buffet dinner at the lovely Heretaunga Club. A wonderful evening with plenty of space to catch up with friends and dance along with the band.

Foundation Project

The Proposal: Looking for donations, from foundation pupils to be used for the building of a Performing Arts Centre. Because of the high cost invloved, a charitable trust is being investigated.

Foundation students are requested to contact David ODwyer at odwyerbuilders2@bigpond.com and let him know their intentions, or to share ideas regarding fundraising.
